UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA BEE SQUAD

Since Twin City Seed partnered with the University of Minnesota’s Bee Lab to develop its unique Bee Lawn Mix, TCS has given 5 percent of Bee Lawn sales to the U of M’s Bee Squad, an education and outreach extension of the University’s Bee Lab. Its mission is to promote the conservation, health and diversity of bee pollinators through research, education, and hands-on mentorship. Find out more about the Bee Squad.

UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA TROE CENTER

Twin City Seed is a proud partner of the University of Minnesota donating 5% of our turfgrass sales to U of M TROE Center for turfgrass science research. Their research directly benefits turfgrass managers in our region with ongoing projects focused on environmental protection, production and management, and breeding and genetics.

Dr. Watkins and the University of Minnesota Turf team sent us the following letter detailing how our support has impacted the industry. The highlight include:

Determining the turf grasses that require the least amount of water/fertilizer to maintain beauty and resiliency i.e., drought tolerance
Screening grasses for resistance to disease
